Welfare Committee
The Welfare Committee was formed as an Ad-Hoc committee by the 2025-2026 SGA Administration to be charged with identifying, advocating for, and addressing issues that affect the physical, mental, emotional, academic, and financial well-being of the student body.
The Welfare Committee will accomplish this charge by assessing student needs to support initiatives that enhance the quality of life for students at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ.
The Welfare Committee shall be responsible for:
- Identifying the needs and concerns of the student body to learn about what barriers to access need to be addressed through surveys, etc.; and
- Advocating for initiatives that positively support the physical, mental, emotional, academic, and financial well-being of the student body; and
- Executing wellness programming that positively support the physical, mental, emotional, academic, and financial well-being of the student body; and
- Exploring opportunities for reducing financial burdens, safety concerns, food insecurity, housing insecurity, period poverty, and stigma surrounding sexual health and testing; and
- Partnering with departments and programs on campus like the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Student Success Help Desk (SSHD), ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Financial and Social Support Services (FSSS), ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Food Pantry, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Foster Homeless Adopted Resources (FAHR), ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Center for Accommodations and Support Services (CASS), ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education (CARE), ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Student Health and Wellness Center, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), University Career Center, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Police Department, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Facilities Services, and ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Environmental Health and Safety to promote physical, mental, emotional, academic, and financial well-being to the student body.
