Welcome back to the College of Science newsletter! On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students, I am excited to share with you the great news of their work and dedication.
¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ professor Philip Lavretsky, Ph.D. has launched a new project called duckDNA in partnership with Ducks Unlimited. This project will allow hunters to mail in tissue samples of harvested ducks, allowing Lavretsky and his team to track duck biodiversity throughout the United States on a larger scale. Lavretsky's work in conservation has largely included ducks and takes him to the wild, as pictured here, where he works hands-on with these feathered friends.
For the second consecutive summer, the Summer ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Research Experience in Chemistry (SURE CHEM) Program is providing an immersive summer experience for visiting undergraduates.
