The REAS center at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ is here to serve ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and the broader Paso del Norte region by helping organizations evaluate their impact. Led by a team of psychologists, sociologists, math and STEM education professionals with expertise in research methodology, REAS provides high-level support across the entire evaluation lifecycle. We offer a wide variety of services designed to meet the rigorous requirements of federal, state, and local grant sponsors. REAS is committed to supporting communities by providing meaningful insights and data-driven solutions.

Some questions REAS can help you answer about your projects:

Is my program meeting its goals and making an impact?

We can help by offering a range of evaluation services and trainings, including:

  • Designing tailored evaluations (process, outcome, and impact evaluations) and providing key insights via formative and summative reporting.
  • Demonstrating impact through structured, rigorous research designs (longitudinal, experimental, quasi-experimental, exploratory)
  • Using established strategic evaluation frameworks like SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) and SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results).
  • Aligning program goals and objectives with measurable impact metrics using the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, & Timebound) framework.

What are the needs of the community or population we want to serve?

We can help by offering a range of evaluation services and trainings, including:

  • Designing and executing comprehensive, community-focused needs assessments.
  • Collecting foundational baseline data to map out project scope.
  • Leveraging existing programmatic or archival data to map the community landscape and identify unmet needs.
  • Highlighting community voices through tailored qualitative data collection (interviews, focus groups, observations) and uncovering deep insights using thematic, narrative, content, and discourse analysis.

How do we collect and analyze data to tell our story?

We can help by offering a range of evaluation services and trainings, including:

  • Employing comprehensive data collection methods including primary data collections methods (surveys, polls, structured interviews, knowledge assessments) and secondary data collection methods (government/organization reports, financial reports, archival data).
  • Providing deep analytical insights using descriptive and inferential statistics (linear/non-linear regression, ANOVA, Chi-Square, Multi-Level Modeling (MLM), Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)).
  • Uncovering deep narratives and themes through content, thematic, narrative, discourse, and grounded theory analyses.
  • Designing and validating tailored scales using advanced psychometrics (Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Principle Components Analysis (PCA), Exploratory Graph Analysis (EGA), and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA)) to capture complex, program-specific constructs and attitudes.

How can we build our team’s capacity for research and assessment?

We can help by offering a range of evaluation services and trainings, including:

  • Providing expert consultation on selecting the right research designs and evaluation frameworks for your grant proposals.
  • Facilitating customized workshops and presentations that translate complex data and assessment concepts into practical, actionable skills for your staff.
