Student Conduct

Enrollment at the University includes both rights and responsibilities. Students are subject to discipline for conduct prohibited by the Board of Regents’ Rules and Regulations, University rules, or federal, state, or local law—whether the conduct occurs on or off campus and whether civil or criminal penalties also apply.

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ administers student discipline using established due process procedures, as outlined in Regents’ Rules and Regulations, Rule 50101, and the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Handbook of Operating Procedures.

The Regents’ Rules and Regulations

"All students at the University of Texas at El Paso are expected to have read and understood the Regents’ Rules and Regulations. The official copy is maintained by the Office of the Boards of Regents."

Handbook of Operating Procedures

Students are encouraged to contribute positively to the campus community. Understanding applicable policies and procedures helps support a healthy learning environment.

The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP) contains official policies and procedures for University governance and must not conflict with the Regents’ Rules and Regulations.
