Learn about Upcoming Glory Road Closure and Other Construction Impacts on New Website
Construction projects are underway across campus, and the new ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ On the Move website at www.utep.edu/onthemove is the best place to learn about what’s happening and how it may affect students, faculty, staff and visitors on campus.
The site includes information on major construction and maintenance projects – including Miner Crossing, the new freshmen residence hall, the Union Building renovation and the Liberal Arts Building demolition/arroyo restoration – and their impacts on pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Signs around campus featuring a construction-themed Paydirt Pete will also help direct traffic and provide detour information to pedestrians.
Upcoming Glory Road Closure
Beginning Tuesday, June 30, part of Glory Road will be closed for approximately five weeks for work on water lines that will serve the new Miner Crossing residence hall under construction near Kidd Field.
The closure will start at the intersection of Glory Road and Randolph Drive and continue west on Glory Road to the west end of Glory Field. The sidewalk along the north side of Glory Road will remain open to pedestrians, and the intersection at Randolph Drive will be open to vehicles and pedestrians.
Vehicles can access the Glory Road 2 (GR-2) parking lot, the Sun Bowl and the Larry K. Durham Center from the west side of Glory Road.
The closure is the first in a series of upcoming road closures on Glory Road, Randolph Drive and Robinson Avenue related to utility work for the Miner Crossing residence hall.
