  • Award: $500 - $2,000
  • Renewable for 4 years
  • Requires full-time enrollment
  • Based on high school GPA. Students must apply for admission and submit transcripts.

Mining Engineering Competitive Scholarship

  • Once admitted to ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ, apply through
  • Award: $1,000 - $8,000
  • Applicants can be selected for a variety of endowed scholarships based on the same application
  • Renewable, apply each year to be considered for more scholarships
  • Requires full-time enrollment
  • Based on application score through committee review

Housing Support

  • Funding available for Mining Engineering students who choose to live on campus
  • Requires full-time enrollment

Additional Financial Support

Paydirt Promise

  • Texas resident students with a family income of $100,000 may qualify for 100% coverage of tuition and fees with a combination of federal, state and institutional grants and scholarships.
  • Submit a FAFSA to be automatically considered

Other Scholarship Opportunities

  • Students in the top 25% of their high school class may apply for the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Excellence, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Presidential, and Terry Scholarship
  • Students could be selected to receive a last-dollar scholarship that covers full cost of attendance for up to four years of study

Resident Tuition Waiver

  • Out-of-state students who earn a competitive scholarship through ScholarMine may qualify for in-state tuition, with an estimated value of $13,200 per year enrolled full time
  • Students who are residents of New Mexico or Mexico with financial need automatically qualify for the waiver
