Professional MBA


The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ MBA Program offers a Professional MBA (PMBA) — a fast-track, cohort style MBA option that combines quality, convenience, and affordability for the region’s advancing professionals. Through the PMBA, students can complete their ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ MBA degree in just 15 months by attending class twice a week at the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Graduate Business Center in Downtown El Paso. 

 

Professional MBA Features 

  • Designed for highly motivated professionals from a wide range of backgrounds including healthcare, engineering, education, government, and business. 
  • Woody L. Hunt College of Business faculty uses a variety of instructional formats including the case method and class projects to demonstrate real-world applications.
  • PMBA students benefit from the networking, team-building, and synergies created by progressing through the entire curriculum as a cohort. 


Curriculum 

The 30 credit hour curriculum is taken one course at a time in 5.5 week modules. The curriculum immerses students in broad-based business management principles within the context of contemporary issues such as globalization, competing technologies, ethics and diversity.  It includes the following courses: 

Accounting for Management
 Concepts of Production Management 
Financial Accounting
Corporate Governance, Ethics, and International Business
Organizational Management Seminar 
International Strategic Management
 Managerial Economics 
Financial Management 
Marketing Management 
Quantitative Methods in Business 


Class Format and Meeting Schedule 

The PMBA program will launch one cohort (35-40 students) every fall and spring semester. Students take one class every 5.5 weeks—three courses in the fall and spring semesters and two courses in the summer. Classes are held at the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Graduate Business Center campus located in Downtown El Paso. 

Students entering the program during the Fall semester will join a cohort that will meet on Tuesday evenings from 5:30pm – 9:30pm and Saturday mornings from 8:00am - 12:00pm.

Students entering the program during the Spring semester will join a cohort that will meet on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5:30pm – 9:30pm.

Applicants should submit the following in order to be considered for admission to the Professional MBA Program:

To apply for admission to the Master of Business Administration program, send the following materials to ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Graduate School (/graduate/apply-now/apply-now.html):

  1. Online Application for Admission into a Graduate Degree Program.
  2. Official transcript from an accredited institution demonstrating completion of a four year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent in the case of an international institution) and official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
  3. One –page Statement of Purpose.
  4. Résumé.
  5. Two letters of reference from professional and/or academic sources.
  6. Evidence demonstrating English proficiency (for non-native English speakers).

Estimated Tuition & Fees 

In State: $1,795.45 per three credit course; $17,954.50 for the 30 credit-hour program.. 

Out of State: $3,396.20 per three credit course; $33,962.00 for the 30 credit-hour program.
