Hunt Business Banking Academy Students Take on National Case Study Challenge
The Big Picture: Five Hunt Business students are representing ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ in the 2025 Community Bank Case Study Competition, a national contest hosted by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS).
With sponsorship and mentorship from WestStar Bank, the team is gaining real-world insight into the evolving landscape of community banking.
Why It Matters: The competition challenges students to research and analyze how community banks are navigating high interest rates, inflation, and emerging technologies — issues that are shaping the future of the banking industry.
The experience deepens conceptual understanding and builds connections between academia and industry.
The team submitted their final case study on May 12, 2025. The top three teams will be announced on July 14, 2025.
Inside the Experience:
- In early April, students met with the executive leadership of WestStar Bank for a two-hour strategy session.
- The conversation focused on WestStar’s response to interest rate risk, its use of technology, and the future of physical bank branches.
